Just for You

Women of color face many challenges when it comes to selecting the right foundation down to the application of the product itself due to our unique and diverse tones. Sam Fine artist to the stars gives us some helpful tips that can be implemented to make our makeup routine more successful.

Brow Tip
Sam Fine suggests that women of darker complexion have darker brows and it is best to set the brows with powder by filling in the sparse areas with shades ranging from brown to dark espresso. The powder is used after making hair like strokes with your brow pencil to temper the color and to give it a more natural look.

More Tips from Sam Fine after the break.

For freckles
Please don't cover them, Mr. fine suggest that when using your foundation you should never cover them as freckles add character to the face.

Primer
prepping the lips is just as important as the face as it allows for the lipstick to adhere better. Sam Fine posits that deeper skin tones can pull off bolder shades but nothing looks worse that a crumbly lip. So before starting your makeup apply some lip balm to get your lips ready for a splash of color.

Bronzer
Yes, bronzer is your friend, Mr. Fine says that every woman needs bronzer even if they have darker skin tones. It is a great way to give definition to the face.

Opt For Cream Concealer
Mr. Fine says some women make the mistake of using a sheer concealer to cover up blemishes  and spots which doesn't work for darker skin tones which require more coverage. "The more coverage you have in a product the less you'll need to use".

Thanks Mr. Fine!!! I am taking notes.
