Matte Skin For Fall!

The matte look, period, full stop is the trending look for Fall. So, alongside our matte lippies take note that your makeup formulas will work to give you that matte look which will be ruling this upcoming season. I know some of us might find this look a bit challenging due to having naturally oily skin. So here are some helpful tips to get you jump started into achieving a  flawless matte face.

Skin Prep - Exfoliate the skin for a fresh look and apply then afterwards apply toner to balance out the skin.

For oily skin- apply Milk of Magnesia for oil control. The magnesium is highly effective in oil absorption. Swipe with a cotton ball over T- Zone area and allow to sit for 3 minutes, then rinse.

Prime Skin - dust or prime the face to prevent oil break through.
Concealer- Apply spot concealer on areas you need it most. Avoid concealers that are oil based.

Foundation - apply a good matte foundation for example , Maybelline Matte Mousse .
Apply  finishing powder to set and absorb oil.

See what products you should avoid after the break.

Please Avoid:
Be sure to avoid any type of face powder, foundation or blush that contains mica, bismuth, or pearl powder. These are all reflective ingredients that will cause your face to look glittery and shiny, rather than matte. These ingredients are best suited to eye shadow and lip products, where you actually want a little bit of sparkle.

Complete the steps above before applying eye liner, mascara & lipstick. Doing so will prevent any oil absorbing powder from sticking to your eyes or lips.

A matte complexion doesn't have to be boring! Spice it up with rust colored lips and shimmery eye shadow (browns, grays and purples will be hot this season).
