Be Happy !

I have been told time and time again that I have to make the decision  to be happy. You could have everything going well for you, a good job, great kids, blessed beyond measure and still you are still experiencing feelings of unhappiness. Yes, being happy is a feeling and so we the power within us to alter how we feel. Don't get me wrong, there are certain days when I wake up especially on a Monday morning and that blah .. feeling overtake me. I have to literally make the decision that I am going to have a great day and nothing is going to affect my mood.On days when I actively practice it I see a major difference in the outcome of my day. Give it a try, decide to be happy.
 I know it may seem like major work to make plans just to be happy, some days I guess takes more effort than others. So today, get your happy on,stop waiting specific on moments to occur to experience happiness, look around you and start to count your blessings and give thanks..

This quote by Zig Ziglar is one that we should ponder, should we allow what happens to us define who we are, or should we choose to learn and grow and not become a victim of negative circumstances. We can choose to either allow circumstances to make, or break us, thank God we have a choice. What do you choose?... I am choosing today to let it make me stronger. I know life happens and the rain falls on the just and the unjust but we can choose to try to learn from our experiences knowing that it will make us wiser. It's true unfair things do happen, people do disappoint, but if we acknowledge that even though people will fail us because of the imperfection of humanity, we have a God who never fails. He will be there to see us through.

Growing

This spoke volumes to me, sometimes we feel suspended like nothing is happening in our lives. It is when we are still that God is able to bring forth what is really in us. You don't realise your potential at times until you are at a roadblock or a standstill. You are praying for God to open up something for you, when it is really you He needs to open up so you can receive.
 I have to work on receiving, so I can fully embrace what God has in store for me. I never knew I would enjoy blogging and  I have always shied away from being in front of the camera and I have been pleasantly surprised by my comfort level when recording my videos. If I didn't try I would never have known. I am glad I did ! If I wasn't at the place of quietness I would never have discovered or even ventured in this area.

God does answers prayers and his answers are best, even when it doesn't feels like it. Tweet

What is real hope if it is seen.Today is another day where I am hoping in what I don't see, with the expectation that it will one day materialize. I guess that is the essence of faith, believing in something, or for something that we in our physical selves see as impossible. But knowing that with God all things are possible if we only believe.

It's often said," when you find something you love you never have to work another day in your life". These words hit home to me today that I wasn't doing something that I loved. Listening to the melodic sounds of Etana has been keeping me positive that what I love will one day release me to be FREE !

Right now I am taking hold of my dreams and reminding myself daily when I can't see how it will happen that God can dream a bigger dream and have a bigger vision than I ever could imagine. So make that decision today and dare to believe, take that step of faith and watch Him make it happen. Tweet

I Remember When..

I remember when I got my first job it was to do makeup for a bridal party. I was extremely nervous, I didn't want to mess up. To build my confidence I decided I needed to practice and so I enlisted my trusted  friend and it wasn't a female. Even though he hated it he allowed me to practice on his face because he wanted me to succeed and to build my confidence and surely it did. As the saying goes " a good friend is better than pocket money".
